Big D's is good. The burgers are thick and juicy. standard toppings include lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup and mustard. The Big D Burger is 1/3 lb of beef for less than $5. anything smaller is considered child size. They have about 5 different kinds of burgers, a double stack, one with jalapenos, a phylo. they all smell good.
Get Fries.
They have milkshakes made from call hall ice cream. They come in bra sizes - a cup, b cup, etc. I haven't tried these.
One time me and shay went, and he paid in all $1's. Big D himself beat shay to the stripper joke. Big D is a charismatic large man. Like santa clause on a harley.
The only drawback to this place is the limited seating. Around lunchtime this place can get crowded- but it is worth it. i've never waited more than 10 minutes for my order. They are also open for breakfast.
I'm pretty sure their beef is local too. but i couldn't tell you where from.
It is worth checking out manhattan's newest local burger joint!

JP's
JP's is a little sports bar/restaurant located in the new Jardine apartments on Denison Ave. This place is the ideal spot for college students. Everything on the menu is under $7 (except the pounder hamburger at $8.25) They have a full bar, and an obscene amount of t.v's. (if you're into that) Their menu has the staples: pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, wraps, and appetizers and desserts. Me and El each got a 12 ounce of boulevard wheat for $3 (the pint is $4). my only complaint is they don't have tallgrass (and too many t.vs) I got a turkey pesto wrap with a side of fries.
The place has only been open since april, also they pay their waitstaff a decent wage so they don't accept tips. Any money left on the table goes to a kstate student scholarship fund. To get there you go to the main courtyard next to the tall glass tower in jardine, it's right next to the organic fairtrade coffee shop!
